Embracing Life’s Transitions – A Right of Passage into Aging With Resilience
What we believe about age throughout our lives- consciously or unconsciously -shapes how we age.
Join me for a weekend where we explore ways to support the current phase of our lives by embracing the present moment with compassion and an open heart through journaling, gentle movement and yoga, meditation, supportive community and healing practices and rituals. We will spend time in nature with forest bathing and making nature mandalas as well as a special ceremony where we will create a take away gift for ourselves to remind us of our unique beauty in this rite of passage to grace filled aging.
As women, we often have many roles that we embody throughout the phases and cycles of our lives Navigating midlife and beyond can often bring up the question WHO AM I NOW? . As we grow older and embrace the wisdom of later years of life, our roles shift and change as we shed some layers and step into the women we are now. In our youth obsessed culture, aging can evoke fears of invisibility, irrelevance and loss. As we age we may notice feelings of regret or grief over missed opportunities and the adjustment to our changing bodies, shifting energy levels through menopause and changes in working status with transition to retirement or working differently at this time in our lives. We may have suppressed some of these emotions in the busyness of earlier life stages and now they demand our attention.
Aging becomes an opportunity to examine our own beliefs or fears about this time in our life and how our value may feel tied to youth and societies expectations of “productivity” and “youthful beauty”. We can step into creating new, empowering narratives about this rich and beautiful time in our lives where aging becomes an opportunity for growth, healing and self-discovery.
